Happy Holiday's

I can't believe its here already..

I am sure I don't have to tell those of you who know me how totally unprepared I am - I guess I am going to have to get used to "the new me" Have patience please!

I was totally unprepared for the storm that kept me away from the studio for longer than expected & also unprepared for a personal family matter that has kept me away from the studio most days since.  A lady, very dear to me is in need of some assistance and I am giving her 100% so if I am absent once in a while without a dramatic Facebook update to accompany it - just know I am okay and spending time with a person that is very important to me.

The Fall Fantasy line was a hit! YAY!  and I apologize for not getting more product into the Etsy shop as promised.  I am going to change the line a bit in preparation for 2013 Winter, Spring & Summer colors and will keep you updated (here or on Facebook) as to when the new pieces will debut.  Of course I will be filling my shop with regular LPA inventory weekly.   This week was all about Ring Kits and I am down to about 10 left that have not been listed yet.  So get them while you can - they make awesome gifts and I will be glad to festively wrap them and ship them anywhere you would like me to -please email or convo me sometimes I do not see the messages left on completed cart orders until its time to ship them out!

Ring Kits are perfect gifts for the holiday's & Great Do-In-One-Day Projects for you and a friend
Here are some photo's from the Bead & Glass Boutique class given this summer (all photo's c. 2012 by Amy B)

I also would like to take this time to Thank Bead Design Studio Magazine for making me their spotlight artist for December.  The article was great and I am honored that you chose me and my work to represent Artisan Bead Makers.

Let's Talk July.... in June!

July... the month that I thought I would have everything under control..I still think it might happen!

I was telling Carol Dean the night before last on the phone that I thought when I returned from Bead and Button after giving myself a week or so I would slowly get back into listings and orders... NOT What Happened...  The emails ( I love all of them BTW) came by the internet's version of a truckload of mail sack's dumped on my doorstep.  I believe I made promises.. I will try my best to keep them - I will, I promise.  But I have not been able to keep up as I should.  Workin on it!

Anyway, I have been listing items on etsy for the last few days..and thank you for buying them as quickly as you have been.   The messages you have been sending are so wonderful and it makes all this craziness (bead making craziness) worth it.     I am trying to keep up and trying to list as often as possible!

It seems as though some of the new designs sold out pretty quick at Bead and Button.. especially this new black, deep textured gouache-glaze surface I have been doing.... so., I will need to get back into the studio sometime in July.  I will probably make announcements on Facebook when I start (more like whiny posts) so if you want any.. lemme know.      I will have a FALL Line out this year - in time for FALL.. {{gasps}} or I think I will.. so stay tuned and plan for black and orange/mustard/rusty colors., chalky colors and lots of leaves.

RING KITS - Ring Kits have been well received!  Recently Rosanne and Beverly sent this  photo of their completed ring kits with the most wonderful review..

Rosanne said "Its the most complete kit I've ever seen. You don't have to do anything but sit down with it and get started. Everything you need is in that bag...and its super simple, yet it looks like you spent all day making it. Loved it! And a portion goes to a good cause too".
I list a few Ring Kits on etsy each week., so keep checking back or send me an email if you are interested in one with your color choice(s)

So...
For those wanting to get a Lisa Peters ART fix in July - here's what's happening:

For the month of July - My private collection of Lisa Peters ART - Handmade Buttons and Beads along with some of Carol Dean and Grace's Samples made with LPA Focals will be on display (insert Melissa Gorga's "On Display" here since Franklin Lakes loves all things RHofNJ-cause' I can't even say "on display" now without singing & repeating it twice)  at the Franklin Lakes Public Library   Buttons will be in Display Case #1 and Beads and Components will be in Display Case #2 in the center of the room.  If you are local stop on by and make some noise for me ;)  * If you go to the show and read this blog and place an order in my etsy shop a special gift awaits you! Just add a note to seller when you complete your purchase that you saw the show and what your favorite piece was and I will email you back with a special gift!

July 20 & 21st - I will be having a Trunk Show  at the Bead & Glass Boutique in Pitman, NJ.  Please check the bead & glass website or facebook page for updates as well as on my facebook fan page or you can register for any class by calling the shop direct at 856-827-0000.
The Shop schedule is:

Friday, July 20
FREE: Bead Embroidery Club 6-8:30, which will focus on the multitude of ways to embroider with LPA pieces.
Saturday, July 21:
11am - Bees & trees earrings - from Heidi Kummili's new, yet to be published book.
2pm - FREE CLASS: Porcelain Ring w/ Kit - Beginner (*purchase of kit $20 required)

*Purchase a LPA Mini Ring Kit for $20 (each kit one of a kind)  There are a hundred kits to choose from all different colors!  A small portion of the proceeds from buying this kit will be donated (in your name) to the No Kill Advocacy Center in Oakland, Ca.

July 24, 2012 at 6:00pm  Amy is giving this great class using Lisa Peters ART two-hole medallions - A private selection of beads were selected by Amy when we were in Milwaukee to prepare for this class.
Details: Leather "ID" Medallion Bracelet with Amy (beginner) $35
You will need a macrame board.

I will not be shipping orders from Monday, July 2 - Monday 9, 2012.   Please be advised that there will be a slight delay in email responses from me during that week - but I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July!
Happy Creating!

Bead and Button .....

is over.. "YAY"
{{ she whispered in a very prolonged, slightly raspy-almost-back-to-normal- jersey accent}}

Amy, Lisa and Carol
Thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth to say Hello, do some shopping or just hear me & mom say something silly or argue depending on what time of day it was ;)  Thank you to everyone who stopped by to see the amazing Carol Dean with her kind heart, beautiful Limited Edition Bead kits and knowledge of all things Peyote stitch and Thank you dear Amy for taking time away from your store, your "day-job" and absolutely working your butt off during your vacation-, aren't you glad you we are "friends"  :)

That't it.. just wanted to say Thank you today..

there will be more about the show when I have fully recovered

til then
happy resting,
lisa

Bead and Button Show 2012
the hard work & the friends who made this year possible!

Hey everyone I wanted to blog again about the Bead and Button Show this week.  The car is packed (really packed) and after a few hours of sleep I will be picking up Mom and making the 14-16 hour drive straight through to Milwaukee.  For those of you coming to the show please stop by my booth (1213 & 1215) say "hello" and check out the beads..

Here are some exciting things you will find at lisa peters ART this year.. .. MOM {{applause}}

and.......

Special Guest Carol Dean Sharpe will have a selection of Sand Fibers Kits and patterns with her including several brand new designs that were specifically created to work with the glazes I have chosen  for B & B and a few very-limited edition surprises.  Carol Dean will be taking orders for a tutorial she has written on working with LPA cabochons.. (personally, I can't wait to see it)  Sample packs as well as individual sheets of Nicole's Bead Backing and Ultrasuede will also be available.

I think everyone pretty much knows Carol Dean, right?... Carol Dean discovered me - way back when I had no clue what I was doing (assuming I have a clue now ;) - but she saw something in my work..and she supported me then as much as she supports me now!  I could never have done this or come this far without the support of "CD" and can't possibly thank her enough for all she has done.  I will never forget the two gals that first made me believe I was saying "something" with my beads..  I am very lucky to have one of them with me for this entire show and very lucky to have as someone I can call friend.

(and yes, Miss Linda Themer - who cannot make the show this year.. You are always with me in spirit and your wonderfully rich and gorgeous Rusty Fiber...that I never go anywhere without!)

Here are some photo's of the kits that will be available at the show that Carol Dean has created specifically to coordinate with a LPA Button - There are more - but you will have to come to my booth to see the rest.
I would  like to take this opportunity to thank Alicia Hartley, one of Sand Fibers Beta Beaders, who has spent the last six weeks beading up samples of the new patterns mentioned earlier.  Thank you so much Alicia for all of your help, I know that Carol Dean's participation in this would not have been possible without the priceless help you have given her.

Wallpaper Blues

Wrought Iron Scrolls

Night Blossoms

Patina Cloth
lisa peters ART finally has a kit! YAY!  Using instructions by the very talented Grace Danel - Carol Dean has put together kits with EVERYTHING (including toothpick for applying glue) you will need to create an adjustable ring with LPA mini flower cabs & beads.  Instead of compensating Grace directly for allowing LPA to use her pattern she has generously offered all of her compensation to be donated to The No Kill Advocacy Center in Oakland, California.  Each person that purchases a kit will add their name to the list that will be sent to the center with the entire donation from Bead and Button 2012.
Thank you Grace for creating this beautiful ring pattern and for the beautiful pieces you have created for me over the years.  I am so happy we connected years ago and I am honored to call you a friend..
Mini Ring Kit - Each Kit Contains a One of a Kind Mini Flower  & Matching Beads
Sample by Grace Danel using the new 2D Cabochons I have created for the show
Even though Staci from - Staci Louise Originals, Handcrafted bronze, copper and polymer beads will not be at the show this year her beads will! I love Staci's work.. I always have and I think our work has kinda the same vibe and I love to see our pieces used together in collaborations.  What you will find in my booth is a well rounded sampling of what she creates. There are layered copper flowers, copper whimsical hearts, etched cuffs that are hand drawn so each is totally unique, bronze beads of sea urchins, moons and other nature inspired shapes. There are also some winged heart cuffs and Moon Baby focals (as featured in Spring 2012 Belle Armoire Jewelry). She inlcuded a sample of her polymer beads as well, hearts and connectors in both natural and bright finishes.  I am really looking forward to seeing everyone's reaction to Staci's work - I  think you will love it as much as I do and she is a really great gal as well with the most adorable kids!

Here is the fun part... (well, maybe not after she see's how much work I have waiting for her in quite a few boxes)  I am super excited that Amy Blevins will be joining us for the entire week!  This is quite a big deal for Amy because she is leaving some huge responsibilities at home with her work and her Bead shop, Bead & Glass Boutique in Pitman, New Jersey that just had their Grand Reopening not too long ago!  Lately, I do not say "bead" without asking Amy if I am saying it the right way, for the right price or the right color - perhaps she just thought it would be easier to just come to Milwaukee .. but we are just so happy to have her with us...

I have decided to create an album on Flickr for some sample photo's of the beads I will have at the show this year.  Please check out my flickr.com album for a B & B 2012 preview.  The photo's will be online in about 2 days.. just didn't have enough time to get that done tonight!  If I don't get it done.. check out my other albums just for fun :)  ( a NEW link will be provided for the new album and posted here on blog when I have uploaded the new photo's)

For those of you coming to the show and shopping on Thursday night or Friday -  you know how busy things can get so please feel free to shop and leave your items with me to invoice and wrap for pick up on Thursday Night or Friday at some point so you don't have to stick around and wait.   If you would like to do this please drop your business card with cell phone number on top of your tray or basket  so that I can call you or text you when your order is ready for pick up.  Since you only have a few hours on preview night this worked out really well last year and I would like you to know the same option is available this year.

Happy Creating,
See ya soon

Anyone know what time it is?

Bead and Button SHOW TIME!

I can't believe it has been almost a year since I saw you all in Milwaukee!  I started my blog with the usual complaints about making-the-beads, glazing-the-beads, etc.. but I decided to start over - Beads are a big pain when getting ready for this show but I wouldn't do it unless I loved doing it, so I tossed my original post for a new one, with a new attitude :)  I still have a lot of work to do to prepare for the show, but I wanted to take a few moments today to say "hello" and can't wait to see you!  If you are a regular LPA Thursday Night Shopper please don't forget to read the last paragraph!

I am excited to announce that lisa peters ART will be adding another booth this year!  I will still be in the same spot (1213) but have added 1215 as well.   My goodness, what will we do with all that extra room?  MORE BEADS of course!  (which is another reason I haven't seen daylight in a few months ;)  In addition to the extra beads there is a very special lady (besides Mom) that I am also very excited to announce will be with me,  Carol Dean Sharpe of Sand Fibers.

Carol Dean will have a selection of Sand Fibers Kits and patterns with her, including several brand new designs that were specifically created to work with the glazes I have chosen  for B & B and a few very-limited edition surprises.  Also available are sample packs as well as individual sheets of Nicole's Bead Backing, Ultrasuede and rumor has it, a Sand Fibers tutorial for working with LPA cabochons.

Using instructions by the very talented Grace Danel, we have put together kits with EVERYTHING (including toothpick for applying glue) you will need to create an adjustable ring with LPA mini flower cabs & beads.  A percentage of the proceeds from these LPA Mini Flower Ring Kits will be donated to charity and the specifics of these donations will be included in your kit.
Each Kit Contains 1 One of a Kind LPA Mini Flower
Grace Danel  (Grace Beading) is not only a wonderfully creative - she cares very deeply about those in need and making an effort to help where she can by donating the beautiful pieces she makes to charitable causes.   Thank you Grace for creating this beautiful ring pattern and for the beautiful pieces you have created for me over the years.  I am so happy we connected years ago and I am honored to call you a friend..   I cannot wait to show everyone the beautiful new Pendant/Brooch you created with my new 2D cabochons -it is totally awesome! And the adorable "porcelain dangles" you created with my marbleized porcelain shapes.. You rock!

Here are just a few samples of B & B 2012 Inventory :

2D Cabochons with specialty glazes

Flower beads, buttons and connectors in every shape & color

Butterfly Relic (cabochons) in Raku, Porcelain and Stoneware

Teardrop & Heart Shaped Cabs in all clays & colors

Lots of Black and Red -Because sometimes I listen...

Triple Layered Cabs and Buttons

Flower Donut Beads

Domed Cabs from Mini to Large, in Raku,  Black & White Porcelain

Buttons

HEX cabs will make an appearance

Rusty/Crusty because I know I have too ;)

Roses because you said so!

Porcelain donuts - cause they are fun!

AND MANY, MANY, MANY MORE!   CHECK OUT MY FACEBOOK OR FLICKR FOR MORE PHOTOS

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Alicia Hartley, one of Sand Fibers Beta Beaders, who has spent the last six weeks beading up samples of the new patterns mentioned earlier.  Thank you so much Alicia for all of your help, I know that Carol Dean's participation in this would not have been possible without the priceless help you have given her.

I do not know if I will be blogging again before I leave for Milwaukee..  I know that Carol Dean will be blogging as well and we will both be discussing the new products and kits on our facebook pages so please keep in touch with us there.   It will be such a joy to spend this event with Carol Dean.. we never get to "see" each other and to be able to spend time in a creative and bead-filled environment is really awesome!  Now there will be someone at my booth who REALLY KNOWS cabs and will be able to assist you in choosing the right LPA cab or bead for your projects.  How cool is that!

Since you only have a few hours on preview night this worked out really well last year and I would like you to know the same option is available this year.

as usual I wish you happy creating,
and see ya in a few
