still haven't unpacked the car

but its ova!

Bead and Button 2013 has come to an end and if you have been reading the posts and blogs and hearing the stories it was just about the same for everyone - The show was.. Not Bad.  I am happy but not clicking-my- heels-jumping-in-the-air-kinda happy.  So nothing to complain about - sales were made, expenses paid and a little profit to buy some tequila for all those margarita's I am going to be drinking this summer.  I am happy to report there will be a touch more inventory for the Etsy shop!   I can't tell you how many customers stopped by to ask me.. "WHEN? Are you going to fill your etsy shop Lisa!  Soon, very soon..

The drive to the show was exhausting but very comfortable in the new car.  It likes to drink a lot of gas so I am glad I don't have to do this too often.   Set up is really difficult and for those of you who follow my facebook feed you know that something happened to my back the first few days which made set up even worse.. Thankfully by Saturday night pain was nearly gone.. but I am a little pissed off at the universe for not giving me a  pass.. I can only be so patient.

I would like to repeat my many thanks to Kristen Stevens for creating the Button Sets for the show.  My previous blog post contains the details but thanks to the Art Jewelry Elements Blog you can read all about Kristen's experience putting together the sets in her words!  Please check out: Art Jewelry Elements when you have a chance & if you purchased any sets at the show please let Kristen know how you feel about the set you purchased!

Also Thank you Marti BrownBetty Stephan and Jan Atherton for "hanging out" at LPA during the show.  It was wonderful knowing that you were there to help if needed and very much appreciated.  Also I am very happy to report that Mom and I did not have one "real" argument at the show!  It was the usual bickering every 10 minutes or so, but none "stuck" and we decided in the car on the way home that we wouldn't want to have it any other way..

Here are some photo's from this year's Bead and Button Show! Enjoy!

Bead & Button 2013

Here we go again folks!  Bead and Button 2013 is finally here.

Mom and I will be leaving Tuesday morning at sunrise and if all goes smoothly arriving in Milwaukee 16 or so hours later, depending on how much coffee Mom feels like drinking along the way.    Please stop by and say hello if you are there during set up and of course be sure to stop by as soon as the show begins!

Lisa Peters ART will be in booth #'s 1213-1215. (against the far right wall) I usually try to keep cabochons  on the table to the left and beads on the table to the right.   This year on the grid wall behind (yes, feel free to enter the space) will be button sets and cabochons sets.

THURSDAY & FRIDAY SHOPPERS:  If you have been to our booth in recent years on a Thursday or Friday you know its a big rush to find what you are looking for but then a very long wait to check out.  (sorry )  I will be providing forms to fill out with your information so that you can choose your beads and leave to do more shopping.  We will invoice you and call/text you when you order is ready to be picked up either that night or the next day.

Those of you who would like to attend the Art Bead Scene Meet & Greet for Saturday Night, June 8th at 7:30pm-10pm please click on the evite link or contact: Kaushambi Shah from ABS to put you on the list.   A Dinner Salad Buffet will be served with vegan options and beverage in our own private banquet room.  The all inclusive price is $20 and is due by June 1st via pay pal.  If you do not have a pay pal account or would like to make other payment arrangements please email me or message me through facebook.

I would like to send a special Thank You to Kristen Stevens of of Beadwork by KAS for Coordinating the Button Sets for this years show.  Alot of time, care and energy went into this project and though you wont be able to tell since all the sets came out so beautiful - Kristen had to deal with a very unorganized mess that I so graciously sent to her ;)    Thank You! Thank You! Kristen for not only doing a wonderful job but for your obvious and genuine concern for wanting to stay true to the LPA style and for my "anticipated" success at this years B & B.  I can assure you, button sets aside, that you have made me feel successful with your kind words and dedication to the project, show or no show.

A big shout out and many hugs to my silent supporters- who got the word out immediately (before I could type the first word) for the extra help I needed at the show.  Your unwavering support of me and my work is the reason I can still do it.. no matter how much I complain in private ;)   You will be missed!

You can find more photographs of new work by going to my flickr site -- below are just a few samples of what will be available at the show

I am overwhelmed by it all (as usual) but not stressed,  anxious & excited but more about breaking out of this work cycle  that I have been in for the last 6 months than about sales at the show (usually referred to as "in the dungeon"  if you follow my Facebook feed)    All the usual suspects that bounce around in my psyche seem to have a different approach this year and the rest of me is very willing to let them take the reins - I will let you define that as you wish - for now.    In a nutshell there has been a change in me, change in my work and just a change in my outlook towards my bead making in the future - in a good way - everything is evolving and that's what this is all about

best wishes for a great show & finding wonderful beads to suit your design needs at LPA

see ya soon

10-9-8-7-6...........

Our View of the Mountain

Happy New Year!
Anyone who was watching local channel 5 in and around the Delaware County area of upstate NY can agree the countdown was less than stellar!  If you are reading this news-caster-lady: YOU forgot the countdown.. But it didn't matter - we were just winding down from a fabulous New Years Weekend in the country with friends and were ready for sleep by the time the rest of the world got to zero.  I hope everyone had very Happy Holiday's and are ready to start the 2013 Beading Season...

For me - It's time to get back to work.
If memory serves, I believe I make beads..

I usually begin preparing for the New Year in December but things have changed a bit around here and it looks like a late start will have to do.   For those of you who read my last blog post or have contact with me outside of Social Media you know that my time is being spent with family who need my assistance and this is pretty much the way things are going to be long term.  I thank you for your patience and consideration during this time.

I also want to bring to your attention that my email and facebook are all "messed up".   I have been battling an email spam problem for about 2 months now.  For every "real" email I receive about 75 spam emails follow and this has been driving me crazy-all I do is delete spam, all day long.  I have checked my spam filters - changed my settings but I find more "real" emails in my spam filters than I do in my regular account - I am currently discussing this with my web people to see if they can get to the bottom of it all.   So, If I have not answered an email - please send it to me again on Facebook {messenger} or on Etsy {convo}  Until this problem is solved.   And while we are on the topic - for a few months facebook has refused to send me ANY NOTIFICATIONS WHATSOEVER.  Translated that means no notifications after comments, when someone comments, when someone sends a message - ANYTHING.   Yes, my settings are fine - so I think there is a connection with this & my email problems.   So, If I have not responded to a comment on FB - that is why -  I am dealing with it the best that I can and again, I thank you for your patience and consideration.

Somewhere in here I was supposed to talk about Beads..

March 2 & 3, 2013: The next show I have coming up is Berks Bead Bazaar  in Pa.   I always describe this as a "cozy" show {if that makes any sense} It's a great place to meet with friends, have lunch at the Inn and shop all things BEAD!  It's very "low-pressure - easygoing" kind of shopping in a pretty atmosphere with a very select group of Bead makers.  The whole LPA clan will be there (including Ben & Hank - wow special treat!) and I really look forward to it.  I will probably post photo's on Facebook & on this blog when I have inventory to show & tell.  If you need something in particular PLEASE contact me and let me know ASAP -  Hank is preparing my work area THIS WEEKEND and the clay is out.   Check out the link for Berks and don't forget to print your Discount coupon for entry into the show!

Best Wishes for a Happy, Healthy & Creative 2013
Lisa
